Remember to include a daily private time for the Word of God – a time when He can minister to your inner man and where you can learn to stand in the “secret place of the Most High.” (Psalms 91:1)
And as you grow in knowledge and understanding, you will be able to add the power which “fasting” brings to the banquet.
There is a battle being waged between your flesh and your soul.
God has given us “fasting” as a powerful weapon to help speed our spiritual victory.
There is a trade-off. When you feed the flesh, you diminish the Spirit; when you starve the flesh, you manifest the Spirit.
God has given us secret weapons to fight the enemy. Fasting is one of them, and it is even more powerful when you keep it a secret from others. It is a weapon of immense power.
Fasting gives you power to see in the Spirit, hear in the Spirit, and think in the Spirit. But the only way to discover that power is to do it! Like everything else that we are given, it must be acted upon in order to acquire the blessings and benefits that are promised.
God rewards this simple, and sometimes difficult and painful act of sacrifice with power in the Spirit when it is for His glory.
“…for My power is made perfect in weakness.”

Commit to Live in His Word
Living in His Word is of eternal importance! If you do not “consume” Him, you will not “remain in Him.” And if you do not remain in Him, how can you “endure to the end and be saved”?
Ask the Father to give you an “eternal appetite” and the strength to overcome the evil of inertia – the evil of putting it off, the evil of your unwillingness to make changes in your routine and thinking. Ask Him for the wisdom to discern His will in your life. And thank Him and praise Him for it. Believe that he will give these things to you, and He will reward you with even more.
“My son, keep My words and store up My commands within you and you will live; guard My teachings as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.”
